Basics of 4WD Track Etiquette
- Headlights on
- Hi-Visibility flag in low vision areas
- Treat every corner or crest as a vehicle coming in the other direction
- The largest amount of vehicles have right of way in single-lane tracks
- First vehicle (Trip leader) to stop and inform oncoming vehicles of the number of vehicles behind and make/model of the last vehicle
- Trip leader to advise the last vehicle ( Tail end charlie) of the number of vehicles pulled over
- Tail end to let those pulled over they are the last vehicle and inform trip leader once past
Always slow down on approaching others using beach areas as children are unpredictable and are often preoccupied. If correct tyre pressures and gear selection is used there is no excuse to speed past other beach users.
